Police investigate shooting in North Preston

 

July 30, 2012, Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia. . . RCMP/HRP Integrated Major Crime Unit is currently investigating a shooting that occurred earlier this evening.
 
 
At approximately 8:48 p.m. RCMP responded to a 911 call of an injured man on Downey Road in North Preston. Upon responding to the call, police found an adult man suffering from a gun shot wound. The man was transported to the QEII Hospital where he died of his injuries.
 
The investigation is in its early stages.
 
Investigators are asking anyone with information on this shooting to come forward to their local RCMP detachment, Halifax Regional Police or by contacting the Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), text TIP202 + your message to “CRIMES” (274637) or by Secure Web Tips at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca.  Calls to Crime Stoppers are not taped or traced and if police make an arrest and lay charges based on a tip, callers qualify for a cash reward from $50 -$2000.
