Suspect arrested after theft and robbery in Halifax

At 10:21am Halifax Regional Police received a report of a robbery that occurred on the street in the area of Church St and Morris St in Halifax.

Patrol members along with K-9 member conducted an investigation and attempted to locate the suspect.

No weapons were used during the robbery.

While attempting to locate the suspect a report was received of a theft that had occurred in the are of the 5500 block of Fenwick St in Halifax.

The description provided to police was the same as the suspect in the previous robbery. The suspect was located at South Park St and Victioria Rd and a foot chase ensued with the suspect.

The suspect was arrested a short period of time after hiding on the front steps of an address in the 5500 block of Inglis St.

No one was injured during the incident and the suspect was able to get an undisclosed amount of cash during both the robbery and the theft.

The suspect will appear I court on July 23rd in Halifax.  Halifax Regional Police would like to thank the citizens in the area that provided assistance in locating the suspect during the incident.
