Youths arrested after 18 vehicles, 3 homes vandalized

RCMP release:

RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment has arrested four youths in relation to vandalism in Cole Harbour.

Between April 20 and May 26, RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment received over twenty reports of mischief to 18 vehicles and three homes in the following areas:

  • Arklow Drive
  • Forest Hills Parkway
  • Lochiel Circle
  • Clermont Crescent
  • Havelock Crescent
  • Hirandale Crescent
  • Sophia Crescent
  • Flying Cloud Drive
  • Nestor Crescent
  • Cole Drive
  • Balsam Place

Information and evidence gathered indicates that rocks, pellet guns and other blunt objects were used to break windows, slash tires and vandalize vehicle interiors.

This past week, RCMP officers located and arrested three Cole Harbour male youths and one Westphal male youth involved in twelve incidents reported on May 26.

The youths were later released and will appear in Halifax Youth Justice Court at a later date to face charges of mischief.

Reporting incidents can help police better target crime prevention efforts in communities. It can also help identify trends and prevent a possible escalation towards violence.
