This Sunday marks the Peace Officers’ Memorial Service which honours officers who have died in the line of duty in Nova Scotia.
Like last year, this year’s service will be held at Grand Parade. Police and peace officers as well as civilian employees will march from Police Headquarters on Gottingen Street to Grand Parade prior to the service. Peace officers from across the province will then assemble at the Nova Scotia Fallen Peace Officers’ Monument for a brief ceremony to honour Nova Scotia peace officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
Officers can’t do their jobs without the support and assistance from members of the public who want to do their part to make our community a safer place. This service provides an opportunity for the public and peace officers to join together to honour fallen officers.
