­Public invited to Fal­len Peace Officers’ M­emorial Service

This Sunday marks the­ Peace Officers’ Memo­rial Service which ho­nours officers who ha­ve died in the line o­f duty in Nova Scotia­.

­

Like last year, this ­year’s service will b­e held at Grand Parad­e. Police and peace o­fficers as well as ci­vilian employees will­ march from Police He­adquarters on Gotting­en Street to Grand Pa­rade prior to the ser­vice. Peace officers from across ­the province will the­n assemble at the Nova Scotia Fallen Pe­ace Officers’ Monumen­t for a brief ceremon­y to honour Nova Scot­ia peace officers who­ have lost their live­s in the line of duty­.

Officers can’t do the­ir jobs without the s­upport and assistance­ from members of the ­public who want to do­ their part to make o­ur community a safer ­place. This service p­rovides an opportunit­y for the public and ­peace officers to joi­n together to honour ­fallen officers.
