Special weather statement in effect for:

  • Halifax Metro and Halifax County West

Accumulating snow is expected for the start of the weekend.

Total snowfall: 10 to 20 cm.

Locations: southern half of Nova Scotia, including Halifax Metro.

Time span: Friday evening until Saturday afternoon.

Remarks: Snow will likely begin spreading across western Nova Scotia Friday afternoon, and then across the rest of the province Friday night. The snow will taper off from west to east during the day Saturday. Latest forecast guidance suggests that accumulations of 10 to 20 cm are possible. This system is still in early stages of development. The situation may change and it will continue to be closely monitored as it approaches in the event that warnings may be required.
