11-year-old airlifted, two other children and driver sustain serious injuries after crash

Annapolis District RCMP is investigating a serious motor vehicle crash that occurred in Litchfield.

On February 15, 2024, at approximately 7:36 p.m., Annapolis District RCMP, fire and EHS responded to a motor vehicle crash on Shore Rd. RCMP officers learned that a White 2018 Hyundai Elantra with multiple occupants left the roadway and ended up in the ditch.

A passenger, an 11-year-old child was airlifted to Halifax by Life Flight with serious injuries.

Two passengers, a 4-year-old and a 9-year-old child were transported to hospital by ambulance with serious injuries.

The driver, a 37-year-old Litchfield man, was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

From information and evidence gathered at the scene, investigators believe alcohol was a factor in the collision.

The investigation is ongoing.
