14-year-old charged with bank robberies

Halifax Regional Police charged a youth in connection with a robbery that occurred in Dartmouth as well a robbery that occurred in Halifax, both on February 28, 2022.

At approximately 1:15 p.m., police responded to a robbery that occurred at the CIBC located at 1809 Barrington Street. A man came into the bank, demanded money from a cashier and fled the area on foot with a quantity of cash. The cashier was not physically injured. (previously released)

At approximately 5:56 p.m., police responded to a robbery that occurred at the Toronto Dominion bank located at 97 Portland Street. A suspect came into the bank, demanded money from a cashier and fled the area on foot with a quantity of cash. The cashier was not physically injured.

At 10:03 p.m., officers arrested a 14-year-old male youth in the 100 block of Albro Lake Road in relation to these incidents. He is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Youth Court at a later date on charges of robbery.
