15-Year-Old Charged After Police Vehicle Rammed In Peggy’s Cove

Halifax District RCMP make an arrest in relation to a stolen truck from Enfield being driven in Tantallon area.
January 8, 2016, Tantallon, Nova Scotia…Halifax District RCMP responded to a report of a stolen truck stolen from the Enfield area being driven in the Tantallon area. Located on Peggy’s Cove Road, the driver of the vehicle rammed the Police Dog Vehicle in an attempt to flee from the RCMP member that was attempting to arrest him. The individual was captured a short time later.

As a result three individuals were arrested with the driver a 15 year old facing the following charges under the Youth Criminal Justice Act: Theft under $5000.00; Possession of Stolen Property; Assault PO; Flight from Police and Dangerous Driving. The young person was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date of March 3, 2016.

The file is still under investigation with the possibility of additional charges.
