17 new COVID-19 cases (Sep 9 2021)

Today, Sept. 9, Nova Scotia is reporting 17 new cases of COVID-19 and four recoveries.

Ten of the cases are in Central Zone. Eight are close contacts of previously reported cases. One is related to travel. One is under investigation.

Five cases are in Northern Zone. All are close contacts of previously reported cases.

One case is in Western Zone and is a close contact of a previously reported case.

One case is in Eastern Zone and is related to travel.

As of today, Nova Scotia has 74 active cases of COVID-19. Of those, one person is in a hospital COVID-19 unit.

On Sept. 8, Nova Scotia Health Authority’s labs completed 3,562 tests.

As of Sept. 8, 1,460,229 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered. Of those, 699,324 Nova Scotians have received their second dose.

Since April 1, there have been 4,365 positive COVID-19 cases and 28 deaths. Cases range in age from under 10 to over 90. There are 4,263 resolved cases. Cumulative cases may change as data is updated in Panorama.
