18 Year Old Arrested for Multiple Vehicle Thefts

Police have arrested an 18-year-old man for multiple vehicle thefts in Lakeside and Tantallon.

Officers attempted to stop a suspected stolen vehicle last night in Beechville. The driver attempted to evade police, then abandoned the vehicle in a residential area, and fled on foot. He was later located by police and K-9 officers and arrested. The driver later admitted to stealing this vehicle and three others from Lakeside and Tantallon since March 17.

The 18-year old male driver from Lakeside is facing four counts each of Theft of a Motor Vehicle and Possession of Stolen Property, and three counts of Flight from Police. He is appearing in Halifax Provincial Court today.

The investigation is ongoing.
