From HRM:
(Thursday, November 25, 2010) HRM Mayor Peter Kelly and Councillors will be on hand this Saturday (Nov. 27) to participate in the 2010 Christmas Tree Lighting Event in Grand Parade Square from 6 pm to 7 pm. Everyone is welcome to attend.
This annual celebration is free to all and will be filled with music from The Backyardigans and the Halifax Boys Honour Choir, along with a special visit by Santa Claus. The event is capped off with a fireworks display.
Nova Scotia Power is partnering with HRM to promote energy efficient LED Christmas lights through a light exchange at this event.
The tree will be lit with LED lights and adorned with giant ornaments, 50 of which were hand-painted by children from the Bedford South School, the YMCA Immigration Program, and the Youth Advocacy Program.
HRM asks that you share in the season of giving by bringing a non-perishable food item for Feed Nova Scotia to the event.
Schedule:
