(Halifax, NS) – Celebrating its 25th year, the 2011 Halifax International Busker Festival have expanded to Argyle Street for both weekends of the festival. Buskers will perform August 5 & 6 and August 12 & 13 from 9 p.m. – 11 p.m. each evening.
"We were looking for a way to celebrate and do something new by going back to the way things were done in the beginning,” said Kim Hendrickson, who has been working with the newly formed Argyle Entertainment District, an association of Argyle Street businesses, to go back to the roots and origin of the festival when the buskers performed in the streets 25 years ago. "Once the action is over on the waterfront at 9 p.m. on the Friday and Saturday night, it will begin on Argyle Street. Sound systems and fire shows will ensure that this street will rock with buskers.”
