2016-17 Budget Consultations Begin

Starting immediately, Nova Scotians can share their thoughts and help shape the 2016-17 budget and future budgets.

Nova Scotians can join Budget Talks 2016-17 in a variety of ways, including email, Facebook and Twitter.

“I want Nova Scotians to share their ideas on how to restore the province’s fiscal health,” said Finance and Treasury Board Minister Randy Delorey. “Getting to more sustainable finances will give us a solid foundation to make investments that mean the most to Nova Scotians in the years to come. I encourage you to take advantage of the various ways you can participate. I hope to hear from you.”

Mr. Delorey will host two live video interactive question-and-answer sessions. Nova Scotians can ask questions via Twitter and Facebook and Mr. Delorey will answer as many as possible. The sessions will be held Monday, Feb. 1, 3:45 p.m. and Wednesday, Feb. 10, 7 p.m.

The sessions can be viewed by going to the province’s Facebook page at facebook.com/nsgov at those times.

Other ways to participate include:
— join in discussions on the province’s Facebook page at facebook.com/nsgov
— emailing a submission to budget@novascotia.ca
— calling 1-844-358-7514 starting Monday, Feb. 1 to provide feedback
