Affordable Access Program

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents of a new program that will allow low-income residents to apply for multiple subsidized programs with one application.

Starting today, the Affordable Access Program will allow people to apply once and have their application considered for the following programs:​

• ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​Low Income Transit Pass Program
• ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​Recreation Access Program
• ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​Property Tax Exemption and Deferral Program

Previously, the process required the resident to apply and prove their financial need for each individual program. The new single-entry process will make the application process easier for users.
