3 Great and Frugal Scrubs and Masks

After a weekend of thinking about taking care of me, I have been thinking how can I take better care of me on a budget.

One of the lessons I have learned it is good to spend a few dollars on good quality things that last longer but there are many ways you can save as well and homemade beauty is one of those ways. I love a great face mask, what woman doesn’t?

I also love Pinterest and many of these recipes are inspired from posts I found there.

I love peppermint and a great scrub and exfoliant. Did you know you can make a great peppermint scrub for a few dollars.

For A Great Peppermint Sugar Scrub

3 cups of white sugar

1 cup + 2 Tbsp. of olive oil

10 drops of essential oil (peppermint)

Mix the olive oil, sugar and essential oil together in a bowl, fill a jar ( I love my mason jars for this) and you are finished.

For A Great Oatmeal Banana Mask and Scrub

This one is my take on the OatFix that is sold at Lush. We love Lush in this house but sometimes I go with what is in the house.

1/2 cup of oatmeal

1/4 Cup of natural yogurt

1 banana chopped into thin slices

2 tbsp of honey

Mix all the ingredients in a bowl, using a fork mash the banana into the oatmeal and yogurt,

You want to get it to thick spreadable paste. If you find it stiff add a little yogurt.

A Divine Chocolate Mask

1/4 Cup of Cocoa Powder
1/2 Cup of Sour Cream
2 Tbsp of Oatmeal
3 Tbsp of Honey

Mix all the ingredients, It will look like a cake batter. but don’t be tempted it is for your face. Let it sit for 5 minutes and then it is ready to use.
