31-year-old woman charged with robbery

Police have charged a woman for a robbery that occurred in Halifax on the weekend.

On November 25 at approximately 10:40 p.m. police responded to a robbery at the Circle K located at 389 Bedford Highway. A woman came into the store and was stealing merchandise when she was approached by staff. The woman threatened the staff with a weapon then fled the area on foot.

On November 26 officers located the suspect at a nearby hotel and arrested her without incident.

Samantha Jeanne Forbes, 31, is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face charges of

robbery and breach of probation.

Forbes is also facing seven counts of theft under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and breach of probation in relation to seven other incidents.
