4-year-old Pictou County boy missing

Update 9:50 a.m. Grady was found safe at approximately 9 a.m. this morning. He was located in a field alongside a wooded area about 2 kilometres away from his residence. EHS attended to assess and treat Grady for signs of exposure.
Thank you to the ground search and rescue volunteers and Pictou County fire service volunteers for their hard work last evening and overnight. And thank you to local residents for checking their properties to assist in the search. The alert for Grady has been cancelled.

Pictou County District RCMP is asking for the help of residents in the area of East River East Side Rd. in Springville, to locate 4-year-old Grady MacKinnon, who was last seen at approximately 5 p.m. today.

MacKinnon is described as 2-ft-6, 37 lbs, he is missing a front top tooth and two bottom teeth, he has brown eyes and short light brown hair. He was wearing a grey hoodie, grey pants with blue and yellow buses and blue shark rubber boots at the time of his disappearance.

RCMP officers are working to receive a photo of Grady, however cellular communications challenges in the area are causing a delay. A photo will be disseminated as soon as we receive it.

MacKinnon was playing outside when he wandered off. Multiple RCMP Police Dog Service teams are at the scene searching. Local Search and Rescue have been dispatched and are on route to assist. At this time, we are asking for residents in the area to keep an eye out for Grady, however do not enter the search area as it could impede search teams and police dogs.
