26, 2014 (Halifax, NS) – Residents and visitors are invited to join members of the Nova Scotia Dahlia Society on Wednesday, Aug. 27, for the 4th annual Dahlia Day celebrations at the Halifax Public Gardens and Horticulture Hall.
These beautiful flowers are in their full splendour this time of year and what better way to enjoy the remaining days of summer than with a stroll outside with friends and family to view the different varieties of dahlias planted in the Public Gardens.
The following is a schedule of the free events in honour of Dahlia Day:
Tour the display beds in the Public Gardens and have your gardening questions answered by experts from the Nova Scotia Dahlia Society.
Arrange dahlias with Neville MacKay from My Mother’s Bloomers.
Dahlia exhibit in Horticultural Hall, located inside the Public Gardens.
The rain date for all of these events is Thursday, Aug. 28.
