63-year-old man facing drug charges after traffic stop

The Valley Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit (VISCEU) has charged a man after a traffic stop on Hwy. 101 led to the seizure of drugs and illegal cigarettes.

On February 3, at approximately 5:30 p.m., police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Hwy. 101 at exit 10 near Wolfville. During the traffic stop, the driver, a 63-year-old man, was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking. During a search of the vehicle, police seized cocaine, oxycodone and unstamped cigarettes.

Following the traffic stop, police executed a search warrant at an apartment on Oakdene Ave. in Kentville. During the search police seized cocaine, unstamped cigarettes and cash. 

Harold Francis Marriott, 63, of Kentville, is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (2 counts), Selling of Tobacco Products and Raw Leaf Tobacco, Possessing Unstamped Tobacco, Possessing Tobacco on Which Tax has not Been Paid, Possessing Unmarked Tobacco and Transporting Tobacco. Marriott was released on conditions and will appear in Kentville Provincial Court March 29, 2022 at 9:30 a.m.
