Freezing rain duration: 4 to possibly 8 hours.

Freezing rain amounts: 2 to 4 mm.

Time span: this morning, changing to rain this afternoon.

Remarks: Temperatures will be just below zero for inland and elevated areas resulting in several hours of freezing rain. Roadways should be mainly wet as ground temperatures are slightly warmer.

Roads and walkways will likely become icy and slippery. Icy surfaces could be difficult to detect.

Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
