At 10:45PM Tuesday night HRP received a 911 call from a resident in the 3200 block of Pennington Street in Halifax. An 85 year old female resident was home alone when she heard a knock on the door. She opened the door and observed a male who immediately punched the victim in her face, knocking her to the ground. The suspect then punched her again in the face, grabbed her by the arm and pulled out of her residence. The suspect demanded money and stated he had a gun although none was seen. The victim began yelling and neighbours came to her assistance. The suspect fled the area. Numerous officers and K-9 attended but were not able to locate the suspect. The victim was treated by Paramedics for some minor cuts and bruises. The suspect is described as a light skinned black male, 5’5″, slim build, with no facial hair. He was wearing a red sweater and a red toque. The incident is being investigated by the General Investigative Section.
