9 new COVID-19 cases (Aug 27 2021)

Today, Aug. 27, Nova Scotia is reporting nine new cases of COVID-19 and four recoveries.

Four of the cases are in Central Zone. Three are related to travel. One is a close contact of a previously reported case.

Three cases are in Western Zone. Two are related to travel. One is a close contact of a previously reported case.

One case is in Northern Zone and is a close contact of a previously reported case.

One case is in Eastern Zone and is related to travel.

There have been 4,305 cases from March 15 to Aug. 26, 2021. Of those:

— 51 (1.2 per cent) were fully vaccinated
— 251 (5.8 per cent) were partially vaccinated
— 4,003 (93.0 per cent) were unvaccinated

There were 255 people hospitalized. Of those:

— 2 (0.8 per cent) were fully vaccinated
— 28 (11.0 per cent) were partially vaccinated
— 225 (88.2 per cent) were unvaccinated

Twenty-eight people died. Of those:

— 1 (3.6 per cent) was fully vaccinated
— 3 (10.7 per cent) were partially vaccinated
— 24 (85.7 per cent) were unvaccinated

As of today, Nova Scotia has 55 active cases of COVID-19. There are currently no hospitalizations.

There were 4,463 tests administered between Aug. 20 and Aug. 26 at the rapid-testing pop-up sites in Halifax, Dartmouth, Cole Harbour, Spryfield, Bedford, Sackville, Tantallon, Mount Uniacke, Baddeck and Sydney.

On Aug. 26, Nova Scotia Health Authority’s labs completed 2,857 tests.

As of Aug. 26, 1,439,698 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered. Of those, 685,346 Nova Scotians have received their second dose.

Since April 1, there have been 4,257 positive COVID-19 cases and 28 deaths. Cases range in age from under 10 to over 90. There are 4,174 resolved cases. Cumulative cases may change as data is updated in Panorama.
