911 call results in arrest of suspected impaired driver – Sherwood

Just before 7 p.m. on October 19, Lunenburg County District RCMP were called to a dirt road off Highway 14 in Sherwood.

A motorist returned to their vehicle only to find a woman in a car blocking her from leaving.

RCMP attended and arrested a 40-year-old woman who displayed signs of impairment as she sat in her vehicle.

She is now facing charges for Impaired Care and Control by alcohol and Care and Control Over the Legal Limit after breath samples confirmed she was five times the legal limit. She is scheduled to appear in Bridgewater Provincial Court on December 12 at 9:30 a.m.

“We applaud the woman for calling 911,” says Sgt. Mark MacPherson, Lunenburg County District RCMP. “Impaired driving is one of the leading causes of deaths and serious injuries on our roads in Nova Scotia.”
