Crown Attorneys Appointed in Dartmouth

William Mathers and Erica Koresawa have been appointed Crown attorneys in Dartmouth.

Martin Herschorn, director of public prosecutions, announced the appointments today, March 17.

“With their education and prosecutorial experience both Mr. Mathers and Ms. Koresawa will be valuable assets to our team of Crown attorneys,” said Mr.

Herschorn.

A native of Victoria, Mr. Mathers graduated in 2007 from the University of British Columbia with a bachelor of arts and in 2011 from the University of Victoria law school.

He articled with the British Columbia Ministry of Justice in Prince George and in 2012 was appointed Crown counsel for the ministry. Based at Williams Lake, he was responsible for many circuit court files in remote communities where he conducted a wide range of prosecutions.

Ms. Koresawa is a native of Vancouver. In 2007, while a University of Alberta bachelor of arts candidate, she was granted early admission to the university’s law school, graduating in 2010. During the third year of law school she was an exchange student at the University of Wollongong, Australia.

Ms. Koresawa articled with the British Columbia Ministry of Justice in the Criminal Justice Branch, New Westminster and Port Coquitlam, and Legal Services Branch, Vancouver. In 2011, she was appointed Crown counsel in the Criminal Justice Branch at Williams Lake where she prosecuted criminal offences in remotely located circuit courts.
