Man Arrested and Charged With Attempted Murder for Last Month’s Gottingen St. Stabbing.

On May 21, at 9:54 a.m., officers responded to a report of a stabbing in the 2000 block of Gottingen Street in Halifax. The victim, a 28-year-old man, had been stabbed while in the 5500 block of Cornwallis Street before making his way to a Gottingen Street address. The victim was taken to hospital by EHS for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
 
Yesterday afternoon, officers assigned to the East Quick Response Unit arrested 29-year-old Jason Matthew Halsey without incident at a residence on Lakefront Drive in Dartmouth. He was held in custody overnight and will appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face charges of attempted murder and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
