Police are investigating an armed robbery at occurred at the Credit Union on Highway 2 in Fall River just before 6 p.m. this evening.
At approximately 5:50 p.m.
this evening, officers from Halifax District RCMP and Halifax Regional Police (HRP), including the HRP K9 unit, responded to an armed robbery at the Credit Union on Highway 2 in Fall River. A preliminary investigation has revealed that a lone masked man entered the business and robbed employees at gun point. The suspect then fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of money, and ran into the woods behind the Credit Union. Police officers and a K9 unit combed the area but were not able to locate the suspect.
The employees were not injured, and there were no customers in the bank at the time of the robbery.
The suspect is described as being approximately 5’10’ with an athletic build. He was wearing a black mask, sunglasses, and a black and white jacket over a grey hooded sweatshirt. The suspect was also wearing gloves, blue jeans and running shoes.
The General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division is leading the investigation, which is ongoing. Investigators are asking anyone who may have information on this crime to contact the RCMP or Halifax Regional Police immediately. Police are also urging anyone who might’ve seen suspicious activity in the area before or after the crime to contact them.
