Driver Ticketed After Morning Vehicle / Pedestrian Accident

Halifax Regional Police responded to a vehicle/pedestrian collision that occurred this morning in Halifax.

At 6:59 a.m., police responded to a vehicle/pedestrian collision that occurred in the 0-100 block of Lacewood Drive near Stoneybrook Court. A car was turning left out of a parking lot and struck a woman as she was crossing the street in a crosswalk. The 51-year-old woman was transported to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries to her leg.

The 21-year-old male driver was issued a summary offence ticket under Section 125(1)(a) of the Motor Vehicle Act for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
