Man Charged after NSCC Akerley Stabbing

DSC_8772Halifax Regional Police has charged a man in relation to a stabbing that occurred yesterday morning at the Nova Scotia Community College Akerley Campus in Dartmouth.

At 11:54 a.m., several patrol units, including members of the Emergency Response Team, responded to a report of a man who had been stabbed following an altercation with a man known to him. Officers attended the scene and located a 22-year-old man suffering from a stab wound. He was transported to hospital for treatment of non- life threatening injuries. At 11:57 a.m., officers took a man into custody without incident.

A 21-year-old Halifax man has been charged with assault with a weapon and is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on April 5.
