Preparation for installation of bicycle lane on University Avenue

Tuesday, August 23, 2016 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents and motorists that preparations for the installation of a bicycle lane on University Avenue from Robie Street to LeMarchant Street begin today, with construction-related ‘No Parking’ signs being installed. Over the following days, crews will change signage, relocate parking and taxi locations and prepare the street for the installation of the bicycle lane. The new lane is part of a two-year pilot project in partnership with Dalhousie University. Installation is scheduled to begin on Sunday, August 28. Residents and motorists are advised to exercise caution in the area as work continues in the right-of-way over the next week.
