Premier Stephen McNeil is leading a delegation to Boston to sell New England business leaders on opportunities in Nova Scotia.

“I want to sell Nova Scotia as a location of choice in which to invest, work and do business,” said Premier McNeil. “I want American business leaders to know that we offer great opportunities for partnership in the seafood, agri-food, tourism and energy sectors, as well as transportation and logistics.”

The premier’s three-day mission to Boston, beginning today, Nov. 30, is in conjunction with the annual tree-lighting ceremony and is also part of a larger effort to raise the profile of Nova Scotia in Boston’s business community.

The premier will use the visit to encourage partnership opportunities in key sectors and to promote Nova Scotia as a destination for post-secondary learning and tourists.

Besides the official tree lighting, the premier’s schedule involves nearly a dozen events, including:

–keynote addresses to the Maritime Innovations Conference and the New England-Canada Business Council.
–participation in the official signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Dalhousie University’s Institute for Ocean Research Enterprise and the Center for Innovation Entrepreneurship (CIE) at the University of Massachusetts.
–meetings with business, education and government officials from Boston and New England.
