According to their Facebook event page, “This main objective of this fun surf event is to encourage more women to try surfing and hopefully get more women in the water surfing on a regular basis.”

The event saw 50 participants of varying skill levels take to the water. Some only required a “brush up” of their skills, and others were first time surfers.

Instructors walked students through all aspects of the skills needed, starting on land with demonstrations and practice, then moved into the water for the real deal.
