Update: The fire the occurred on Montebello Dr has been investigated by HRF and HRP and has been determined to be not suspicious.
The General Investigation Section is still investigating the fire on Pinecrest Dr. There are no arrests at this time. Residents were checked by EHS on scene and some were treated for smoke inhalation.
** Weapon Complaint
Halifax Regional Police are currently investigating a weapons complaint that was reported early this morning in Halifax.
At 00.06 a.m., officers attended the area of 5000 block of Duffus St, Halifax for a weapons call. Police immediately responded to an injured female inside a residence who had sustained a gun shot wound. EHS attended and the female was taken to the QEII hospital.
This matter is in the early stages of the investigation. Members of the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are asking anyone with information about this incident to contact police at 902-490-5016. ** Stolen Vehicle / MVA
At 1109 pm on Saturday, September 23rd2017, Halifax Regional Police responded to the intersection of Almon St and Gottingen St, Halifax for reports of a vehicle that had gone through the intersection at a high rate of speed, hit a fence, going airborne then flipping and landing on the Stadacona Base property. Through investigation police learned that the vehicle involved in the collision had been stolen by the someone known to the owner after he assaulted the owner in the 6200 block of London St, Halifax.
A 27 year old male faces charges of; Theft of Motor Vehicle, Assault Causing Bodily Harm, Choking to Overcome, Breaches, Dangerous Operation and Impaired Operation and Refusal and is being held until court on Monday morning September 25th, 2017 in Halifax.
** Suspicious Fires
Halifax Regional Police are currently investigating two fires in Darmouth; 0-100 block of Pinecrest Dr and 0-100 block of Montebello Dr.
The matters are in the early stages on the investigation. They are believed to be suspicious.
