New Accessible Library Format Offered

Nova Scotians who are visually impaired or those with other print disabilities will now have additional access to books and materials in a variety of alternative formats.Communities Culture and Heritage Minister Leo Glavine announced today, Sept. 28, that government will fund access to the Centre for Equitable Library Access(CELA) beginning Oct. 1.“We all want quality public library services for each and every Nova Scotian and that means equal access to books, information and resources,” said Mr. Glavine. “Government will continue to make that possible by promoting creativity and innovation, vital parts of the province's Nova Scotia's Culture Action Plan.”CELA is an accessible library subscription service whose content is owned by the Canadian National Institute for the Blind and other accessible content sharing services.
