The need to speed results in consequences.

On Sunday evening, Halifax District RCMP received complaints of cars racing through residential areas in Tantallon. As a result, RCMP seized two vehicles early Monday morning after clocking three vehicles travelling at 118 km/hr in 60 km/hr zone. Prior to 1 a.m., while conducting radar patrols on Hammonds Plains Rd. at Stillwater Lane, a member observed three cars racing up behind him while parked on the shoulder of the road. One of the vehicles attempted to pass another vehicle on the shoulder.

Two of the vehicles stopped while the third vehicle, a white Honda Civic, failed to stop for police. An 18-year-old male and a 19-year-old male had their driver’s license immediately suspended for one week, their Honda Civics towed and were issued fines of $2,422.50 for stunting.
