At 1:56 a.m. 1 January, Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of an injured male with stab wounds in the 1800 block of Granville Street Halifax.
Patrol officers along with a Police Service Dog responded to the area and conducted a through search of the area.
Officers located and arrested the suspect in the 2300 block of Brunswick Street. A 26-year-old male from Halifax has been arrested and is facing charges of Aggravated Assault and Weapons offences.
Investigators with the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are conducting the investigation.

Investigators with the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division have charged a man in relation to a weapons call in Halifax Tuesday morning.
A 26 year old man was charged with Attempt Murder, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous purpose and Breach of Probation, he will be held in custody and appear in court on Wednesday January 2, 2019 at Halifax Provincial Court.
The 20 year old male victim remains in Hospital receiving treatment for his injuries.

At 2:35 a.m. Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of an injured male with injuries consistent with a stabbing entering the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital Emergency Department, 1799 Robie Street Halifax.
Officers confirmed an unknown person injured the male during an altercation in the 3300 block of Connaught Avenue Halifax.
There is no suspect description at this time. Investigators with the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are conducting the investigation, which is in the early stages.
