Halifax Regional Police are investigating a robbery that occurred this morning in Halifax.
At 9:40 a.m. on September 26th, 2020, officers responded to a report of a robbery at the Petro Canada Service Station located at 7015 Bayers Road, Halifax. A lone male suspect entered the Service Station and confronted the lone male employee who was working behind the counter. The suspect placed a black re-useable cloth bag on the counter and demanded cigarettes and money. The suspect indicated he had a weapon inside his hoodie pocket but no weapon was produced. The suspect went behind the counter and removed an undisclosed amount of money from the till and cigarettes from the cigarette drawer. The suspect placed the money and cigarettes in the cloth bag and fled the Service Station running East on Bayers Road.
The male employee was not injured.
The suspect is described as a white male, between 20-30 years old, slim build, 5’7” in height and 145lbs in weight. He had a tattoo on the right of his neck and a tattoo on the top of his right hand from his thumb to his index finger (no description on the tattoos). He was wearing a maroon hoodie with white “Canada” lettering, a black ball cap, blue face mask, black pants and black shoes. The suspect was carrying a black re-usable cloth bag with a white symbol. He placed the stolen money and stolen cigarettes inside the bag.
Multiple police units attended the scene and actively looked for the suspect. An Investigator from the Forensic Identification Unit attended and processed the scene.
The investigation will be assigned to Investigators from the General Investigative Section.
