Police have charged a man with drug trafficking offences following a motor vehicle crash that occurred in Halifax this week.
On January 9 at approximately 2:45 p.m. police responded to a single vehicle crash on Leiblin Drive near Birchfield Crescent. A vehicle left the road and landed in a wooded area. A 17-year-old passenger was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The driver and two passengers were treated at the scene by EHS. The investigation of the motor vehicle crash is ongoing.
Responding officers observed illegal drugs and paraphernalia inside and outside the vehicle. Officers arrested the driver and seized a quantity of cannabis and psilocybin.
The Drug Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division have charged a 19-year-old man with possession for purposes of trafficking and possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling and distributing. He is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court at a later date.
