Police have charged a man and a woman after a search of a residence in Halifax on the weekend.
On March 3 at approximately 6:20 p.m., members of the Quick Response Unit conducted a traffic stop on Barrington Street in relation to an ongoing investigation. Officers seized a quantity of cocaine and hydromorphone from the vehicle and a man was arrested at the scene.
A short time later, Quick Response Unit members, along with investigators in the Drug Unit of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division and members of the Emergency Response Team, conducted a search of a residence on Adams Avenue in Halifax. Investigators seized a quantity of pregabalin pills, cash and illegal cigarettes. A woman was arrested at the scene and found to be in possession of a prohibited weapon.
A 54-year-old man will appear in Halifax provincial court at a later date to face two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking. A 36-year-old woman is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court at a later date to face one count of possession of a prohibited weapon.
