Construction begins at Lakeside Community Centre Friday, Dec. 1, 2023 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that the Lakeside Community Centre (1492 St. Margarets Bay Road, Lakeside) will be closing in mid-December to begin construction of a new facility. Construction will continue throughout 2024. The renamed Beechville Lakeside Timerlea Recreation Centre, located at the same address, will include all the amenities of the existing Centre – as well as a community kitchen, full-sized gymnasium and splashpad. The 28,804 sq. ft. Centre is anticipated to open in 2025 and will be entirely net-zero with electric vehicle charging stations There will be no loss of programs during the construction period.
