UPDATE: Precautionary Boil Water Advisory in Effect for Middle Musquodoboit This advisory impacts customers in Middle Musquodoboit that are serviced by Halifax Water.
(Sunday, April 21) Water service has been restored to customers in Middle Musquodoboit. Customers in the area may experience discoloured water following this repair. It is recommended that those customers run the COLD water at one faucet until the water runs clear. To learn more about discoloured water and to report it, please visit www.halifaxwater.ca/discoloured-water<www.halifaxwater.ca/discoloured-water>. PLEASE NOTE – The Precautionary Boil Water Advisory remains in effect until further notice. Halifax Water continues to advise customers in this area that there is a possibility of unsafe drinking water for customers in the area(s) described in this notice. Please use the link below to access an interactive map that can help you determine if your property is within the area impacted by this advisory: (halifaxwater.ca/water-service) We advise that impacted customers boil all water for at least 1 minute before using water for:
* drinking * preparing infant formula * making ice cubes or juices * washing fruits or vegetables * cooking * brushing teeth; or * any other activity requiring human consumption.
This advisory is in place until further notice. A fact sheet on domestic water usage, when a boil advisory is in effect, is attached. This boil water order is precautionary and based on the loss of water resulting from a water main break near 19 Higginsville Road in Middle Musquodoboit. Halifax Water continues to monitor the water quality and is working in close consultation with Nova Scotia Environment and the Medical Officer of Health. Halifax Water will provide updates and when the precautionary boil advisory is removed as information is available.
