Halifax West High School has dismissed students early as a precautionary measure after being alerted to a potential threat. This morning, school authorities were notified of a message suggesting a threat, which was found inscribed in a bathroom stall. The police were contacted immediately and are currently on the premises conducting an investigation.

The school’s principal assured parents and guardians that the safety of students and staff remains the school’s top priority, and such threats are always taken seriously. Students were sent home at the beginning of lunch, and transportation was arranged.

School officials and local authorities are working closely to address the situation, and further updates are expected as the investigation progresses.

Halifax Regional Police is investigating a threats complaint at a high school in Halifax. 

At approximately 10:50 a.m. this morning, officers responded to a report of threats received by Halifax West High School located at 283 Thomas Raddall Drive. Officers are on scene and are checking the school for any safety concerns.
