RCMP release:
RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment is warning the public after cannabis and a razor blade were found in Halloween treat bags.
On October 31, at approximately 9:15 p.m., RCMP officers responded to a report of cannabis being given to trick-or-treaters in Lake Echo. Investigators learned that two youths each returned home to find a dozen pre-rolled joints among their Halloween treats. At this time, it’s believed the cannabis came from a residence on Ponderosa Rd. or Bluerock Rd. between the hours of 7 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Later in the evening, at approximately 9:50 p.m., RCMP officers responded to a report of a razor blade in a youth’s Halloween bag. At this time, it’s believed the razor blade came from a home on Taranaki Dr. in Westphal.
Investigators are asking the public to exercise caution, check treats and report incidents to police.
