Police investigate fatal intersection collision

RCMP release:

Yarmouth Rural RCMP Detachment is investigating a fatal collision that occurred in Brooklyn.

On November 4, 2024 at approximately 11:41 a.m., Yarmouth Rural RCMP, fire services, and EHS responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Greenville Rd. and Hardscratch Rd. in Brooklyn. RCMP officers learned that a Hyundai Accent and Ford Ranger collided in the intersection.

The driver of the Accent, an 81-year-old woman from Yarmouth, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The passenger in the Accent was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Ranger suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene by EHS.

An RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the scene and the investigation is ongoing. The intersection was closed for several hours but has since reopened.
