Black health and wellness immunization clinic in Halifax and Dartmouth

NSHA release:

Culturally specific Black health and wellness immunization clinics enable people of African descent to receive vaccinations in a place that feels familiar and respectful.

Appointments are not needed to attend these clinics. Drop-ins are welcome. Although these clinics are culturally specific, all are welcome.

The following Black health and wellness clinics will be held next week in Central Zone:

New Horizons Baptist Church

5457 Nora Bernard St., Halifax

Tuesday, Nov. 26 from 1 p.m. – 6 p.m.

New Beginnings Ministries

26 Cherry Brook Rd., Dartmouth

Friday, Nov. 29 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

The Islamic Association of Nova Scotia

42 Leaman Dr., Dartmouth

Saturday, Nov. 30 from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Ummah Masjid Community Centre

2510 St. Matthias St., Halifax

Saturday, Nov. 30 from 2:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

The clinics will offer the following services:

  • COVID-19 Immunizations (ages six months and older)
  • Standard influenza vaccines (ages six months to 64 years)
  • Enhanced influenza vaccines (ages 65 and older)
  • Pneumococcal vaccines (ages 65 and older, and those with high-risk health conditions)
  • COVID-19 and influenza testing
  • Interpretation services will be available
  • The clinics on Nov. 26 and 29 will offer blood pressure testing.

Please note:

  • Vaccines and testing are free and available to all who meet eligibility requirements. 
  • Please bring your health card if you have one. 
  • Please dress accordingly as you may have to wait in line outside. 
  • Clinics may be cancelled due to inclement weather.
  • Vaccination clinics are healthcare environments and masks are required. A mask will be offered to you when you arrive.
