Wind warning for Halifax (Posted Nov 22 @ 4pm)

Environment Canada release:

Wind Warning in effect for:
Halifax Metro and Halifax County West
Strong winds that may cause damage are expected or occurring.

Maximum wind gusts: 90 km/h along the Atlantic coast.

Locations: Halifax County and eastern Nova Scotia.

Time span: early Saturday morning until early Saturday evening.

Remarks: Easterly winds will increase tonight and peak in strength along the Atlantic coast on Saturday morning, and in the eastern Northumberland Straight in the mid to late morning period. At this time, there remains uncertainty regarding the wind forecast for late Saturday afternoon and evening, as southerly wind gusts may continue to exceed warning criteria in parts of eastern mainland Nova Scotia and southern Cape Breton at that time.

High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break.

Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds.
