Highway 102: Major paving project near Truro

The Department of Public Works is repaving about 13 km of southbound Highway 102, from the Millbrook Interchange (Exit 13) to the Shortts Lake Road overpass.

“This is one of the busiest stretches of road in the province and a key route for trade and tourism,” said Colchester-Musquodoboit Valley MLA Scott Armstrong.

  • Status: Tender to be issued in the coming days
  • Completion target: Late fall 2025
  • Part of: A province-wide $161M investment in resurfacing projects
  • Impact: Expect lane reductions and delays later this season

This project joins other 100-series highway upgrades across the province, including work on Highways 101, 102, 104, 105, and 125.

 

HRM roadwork

Gottingen Street (between Bilby Street and Macara Street)

  • Date: Monday, July 28
  • Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Details: Crews will be pulling electrical wires into a vault at 2828 Gottingen Street.
  • Impact: Traffic control personnel onsite. Expect delays.

North Preston Road (from civic 275 to Long Lake Bridge)

  • Date: Monday, July 28 & Tuesday, July 29
  • Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Details: Road repairs as part of HRM’s integrated mobility plan.

Rocky Lake Drive (between Duke Street and Bedford Highway)
