RCMP release:
RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment is investigating a fatal head-on collision on Hwy. 107 near Mineville.
On October 17, at approximately 7:10 a.m., RCMP, EHS and fire services responded to a report of a collision on Hwy. 107. Officers learned an eastbound Mazda 3 and an eastbound Hyundai Kona collided before the Mazda 3 then collided head-on with a westbound Mazda 3.
The driver of the eastbound Mazda 3, a 31-year-old woman from Gaetz Brook, was pronounced deceased at the scene. A child passenger was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the westbound Mazda 3, a 48-year-old man from Porters Lake, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The passenger of this vehicle, a 19-year-old man from Porters Lake, was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver and sole occupant of the Hyundai Kona, a 26-year-old woman from Halifax, was not physically injured.
An RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the location of the crash along with the Medical Examiner Service. The investigation is ongoing.

The highway was closed for several hours, but has since reopened.
