RCMP release:
Southwest Nova District RCMP Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SCEU) seized items including cocaine, unstamped tobacco, and cash during the execution of a search warrant in New Russell.
On January 6, Southwest Nova District RCMP SCEU, assisted by the Lunenburg District RCMP and the Nova Scotia RCMP South Shore Traffic Services, executed a search warrant at a residence on New Russell Rd. in relation to a drug trafficking investigation.
During the search, officers located and seized cocaine in both powdered and crack form (over 4 kg total), hydromorphone capsules, a quantity of cash, unstamped tobacco products (approximately 27,000 cigarettes), and drug paraphernalia including packaging materials.
Three people were arrested during the execution of the search warrant. One man was later released on conditions pending a future court appearance at Bridgewater Provincial Court to face charges related to Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and the Excise Act. The two other people were released without charges.
The investigation is ongoing.
