Weekday Alderney ferry service reduced due to Vincent Coleman vessel repairs

Halifax Transit ferry, VINCENT COLEMAN - IMO 9850317, from Halifax Ferry Terminal arriving at Alderney, Nova Scotia, Canada

HRM release:

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that as of today, Monday, Jan. 12, the Alderney Ferry service will be reduced from every 15 minutes to every 30 minutes on weekdays from 7:15 a.m. until 8:15 p.m. until further notice.

The service reduction is required due to repairs needed on the Vincent Coleman vessel, which experienced a mechanical issue last week.

At this time, Halifax Transit is unable to provide an estimated date for the restoration of full service for the Alderney Ferry, as the repairs are dependent on the shipment of required parts.

Woodside Ferry service has also resumed regular service, running every 15 minutes on weekdays during peak hours.

Updates will be provided on the Halifax Transit service disruptions webpage and on Halifax Transit and municipal social media platforms.
