Robbery at Dartmouth Shoppers Drug Mart leaves security guard injured

Police searching for suspect after confrontation at Wyse Road store

A security guard sustained minor injuries after being assaulted during a robbery at a Dartmouth pharmacy Saturday evening.

Halifax Regional Police responded to the Shoppers Drug Mart at 118 Wyse Road around 8:45 p.m. on January 11 after receiving reports of a robbery in progress.

According to HRP, a man had taken merchandise from the store without paying. When a security guard confronted the individual, the suspect allegedly assaulted and threatened the employee before fleeing the scene on foot.

Officers searched the surrounding area but were unable to locate the suspect.

The security guard was treated for minor injuries sustained during the altercation.
